Q-Bowling

History of Q-Bowling

History of Q-Bowling In conjunction with the 1988 Olympics, several new state-of-the-art bowling centre were built in Seoul, Korea, host of that years Summer Olympics. That spawned a craze for bowling in Korea, Taiwan, and other Asian countries for the next ten years. Beautiful new bowling centre sprang up in virtually every city, and long waiting lines to bowl could be found in most centre several nights a week. By 1997 Korea was basically saturated with bowling centre. Then in late ˇ¯97 the Asian Economic Crisis occurred, beginning in Southern Asia and spreading throughout the region. Consequently, bowling centre began to close their doors in large numbers.

During the boom years of bowling in Korea, a few companies began manufacturing pinsetters, lanes, and other equipment, both for domestic use and for export to other countries. After the Economic Crisis, these companies had manufacturing capabilities, but no market for their product.

This led one company to develop Q-Bowling. It is an actual 1/3 scale of a 10 pin bowling pinsetter. From the size of the pinsetter itself, to the size of the pins, balls, and length and width of the lane, everything is an exact 1/3 scale. Furthermore, it utilizes a computerized automatic scorekeeper system exactly like 10 pin bowling. The scoring and rules are also the same.

The system has been shown in trade shows in the U.S. and Korea with overwhelming response. Men, women, and children alike queue up to experience the new invention. The game is so simple and easy to play like wise for Bowling that need skill as well as tackling learning curve. Anyone who has ever seen or tried billiards played knows how to start learning or playing the game, yet the rules are that of bowling.

Despite tremendous demand from the market, the developers of Q-Bowling have been careful to address all patent issues as well as technical details before placing it in the marketplace.

Q-Bowling is now fully functional, fully tested, and ready for the market. An International Q-Bowling Association is being developed as well as a regional association in Malaysia, where application is being made to the government to declare Q-bowling a national sport.
